Podmore & Sons is not a faceless organisation. We are a family firm ourselves, and we know the value of a good name. Our own story began over a century ago with a man, a toolbox and a promise to do the job properly.

Over the years, we have seen the trade change. But the core of it, the pride in a job well done, the trust between trader and customer, that has never altered. The awards are our way of giving something back to the community that has given us so much.

We are fiercely independent. No sponsors, no big corporations calling the shots. The only thing that matters is the quality of the work and the stories behind it.

Every year, we look forward to receiving nominations and discovering the family firms that make Britain great. It is a privilege, and we take it seriously.
